Description

The Fyne Audio F500SP represents the entry level model in the prestigious Special Production series , hand-built entirely in Scotland. Developed from the award-winning F500, this 2-way standmount speaker incorporates technologies derived from the F700 Series, including the 150mm IsoFlare point driver , BassTrax Tactrix tuning system and a next-generation cryogenically treated crossover .

The heart of the project is the IsoFlare coaxial driver, which combines a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter and a mid-woofer with multi-fiber cone in a single point source. This configuration ensures an emissionand fase coherent across the audio spectrum, with an extremely focused sound image and a three-dimensional sound stage which goes far beyond the physical limits of the cabinet. The double neodymium magnetic system , FyneFlute suspension reduce cone resonances at the termination, delivering clean, articulate bass that is surprising for a speaker of this size.

The downward-firing reflex port discharges energy onto the BassTrax Tactrix conical diffuser , which disperses the airflow 360°: the result is low-range extension down to 42 Hz with easier room integration and much less critical positioning than traditional rear reflex ports. The bi-wire connection panel offers a fifth terminal dedicated to grounding the driver chassis, a technical solution that eliminates radio frequency interference generated by amplifiers or cables.

With a sensitivity of 90 dB and a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms , the F500SP is suitable for driving both solid-state amplifiers and hi-fi tube amplifiers, even those with modest power outputs, starting from 30 W RMS. The high-gloss lacquer finishes —Walnut, Black, or White—and anodized aluminum details confirm the premium nature of the design. How do you choose the right hi-fi bookshelf speakers for a high-end system? The F500SP is the ideal answer for those looking for a Made in UK standmount monitor capable of rivaling floorstanders of the same price, offering a level of detail and soundstage of true high-end in a compact enclosure.

About the brand

Fyne Audio is a British brand of hi-fi speakers and components founded in 2017 in Coatbridge, Scotland. The company positions itself in the premium segment of the audio market, offering solutions for audiophiles and high-fidelity enthusiasts seeking natural, coherent, and detailed sound reproduction.
Fyne Audio's philosophy stems from the experience of a team of engineers and specialists with decades of experience in the British audio industry, a tradition of acoustic excellence deeply rooted in Scotland. The brand's goal is to faithfully recreate the musical experience through meticulous electro-acoustic design and artisanal craftsmanship. Higher-end models are designed and hand-assembled in Scotland, combining engineering expertise with premium materials.
Fyne Audio's signature technologies are at the heart of the brand. The IsoFlare driver is a point-source transducer in which the tweeter is positioned at the center of the mid-bass cone: this coaxial configuration ensures excellentmissionand coherent in time and space, a stable soundstage and a wider listening area. BassTrax technology uses a Tractrix diffuser on the downward-firing reflex port, distributing low frequencies evenly throughout the room. The FyneFlute suspension controls the cone's movement, reducing unwanted resonances for a cleaner, more articulate sound.
The Fyne Audio product range primarily includes floorstanding and bookshelf speakers, available in several series to meet every need. The 500 Series, with models such as the F500, F501, and F502 in both standard and Special Production variants, offers the signature IsoFlare driver in solutions with an excellent performance-to-size ratio, ideal for both dedicated stereo systems and sophisticated home environments. The higher series, up to the flagship models and the classic-designed Vintage line, further enhance performance for the most demanding listeners.
In just a few years, Fyne Audio has won numerous accolades from the international specialist press, with enthusiastic reviews and awards that have confirmed its build quality and sound performance, quickly establishing it as one of the most interesting brands on the contemporary hi-fi scene.
Fyne Audio's target audience includes audiophiles and music enthusiasts who seek natural musicality, precise sound imaging and build quality, with a price range that spans from the most accessible models to high-end flagship speakers, covering different budget needs without compromising on acoustic performance.
In Italy, Fyne Audio is available through a select network of specialized high-fidelity retailers, who guarantee qualified advice, demo listening sessions, and professional after-sales assistance to maximize the value of each system.

Floorstanding or bookshelf speakers: a guide to choosing

Imposing tower or compact bookshelf? It's the question every enthusiast asks at least once, and the answer is never obvious. The choice between floorstanding and bookshelf speakers depends on more than just budget or space...

Anatomy of a Tower: What Makes a Speaker Unique

A floorstanding speaker is built to stand alone, without the need for external supports. Its height—often between 80 and 120 centimeters—allows it to house multiple separate drivers: a tweeter for highs, a midrange driver for midrange, and one or more woofers for bass. This multi-way configuration offers more granular control over different portions of the sound spectrum.

Very happy with the purchase. I listen to all genres, from jazz to classical music to classic rock. The speakers are currently connected to an older preamp. Proton I'm considering switching to a hybrid or tube amp. I highly recommend them, especially since, in my opinion, they don't require a carefully planned and targeted setup.
