Description

I Fyne Audio F501S floorstanding speakers represent a proposal withvincentand for those seeking audiophile performance in a compact and elegant cabinet. The heart of the project is the driver IsoFlare point source 150mm, which integrates a 25mm magnesium dome tweeter at the centre of the mid-bass cone: this coaxial configuration guarantees coherence of fase and an extremely precise stereo image, maintaining the stability of the sound front even outside the classic sweet spot.

Supporting the IsoFlare driver is a dedicated 150mm woofer , sized to extend low-end response down to 36Hz and deliver articulate, dynamic, and controlled bass. The 2-way architecture uses a crossover with crossover frequencies at 250Hz and 1,7kHz, keeping the entire critical midrange under the responsibility of a single coaxial driver to reduce tonal inconsistencies.

Among the Scottish brand's distinctive technologies is the patented BassTrax Tractrix Diffuser system : the airflow from the lower reflex port is directed against a Tractrix cone positioned under the cabinet, which redistributes the low frequencies evenly over 360°. The practical advantage is less critical when positioning the speaker in the room and more uniform bass reproduction even in rooms without acoustic treatment.

The cabinet is crafted from high-rigidity MDF with extensive internal bracing, a construction choice that reduces parasitic resonances and contributes to the overall clarity of the sound. The three available finishes—Black Oak, Natural Walnut, and Piano Gloss Black—cover both contemporary and more classic tastes, making the speaker a perfect fit for any residential environment.

A detail appreciated by the most demanding listeners is the Presence Control Switch , a ±3dB adjustment between 2,5 and 5kHz that allows you to adapt the presence level of the medium-high range to personal preferences or the acoustic characteristics of the room, particularly useful for enhancing vocals and solo instruments.

With a sensitivity of 90dB and a recommended amplifier power of 30 to 150 watts RMS, the F501S is easy to drive and pairs effectively with a wide range of electronics, from medium-powered Hi-Fi tube amplifiers to more muscular solid-state solutions. A recurring question is: which floorstanding speakers should you choose for medium-sized rooms, between stereo Hi-Fi and home cinema? The F501S answers with a rare balance between compact footprint, credible bass extension, and versatility of use, both as a main stereo pair and as the front of a multi-channel system.

To complete the installation we recommend good section power cables and careful adjustment of the decoupling tips; for those who want further extension in the low range, the combination with a Fyne Audio subwoofer from the F3 series guarantees timbre continuity and correct alignment of fase.

About the brand

Fyne Audio is a British brand of hi-fi speakers and components founded in 2017 in Coatbridge, Scotland. The company positions itself in the premium segment of the audio market, offering solutions for audiophiles and high-fidelity enthusiasts seeking natural, coherent, and detailed sound reproduction.
Fyne Audio's philosophy stems from the experience of a team of engineers and specialists with decades of experience in the British audio industry, a tradition of acoustic excellence deeply rooted in Scotland. The brand's goal is to faithfully recreate the musical experience through meticulous electro-acoustic design and artisanal craftsmanship. Higher-end models are designed and hand-assembled in Scotland, combining engineering expertise with premium materials.
Fyne Audio's signature technologies are at the heart of the brand. The IsoFlare driver is a point-source transducer in which the tweeter is positioned at the center of the mid-bass cone: this coaxial configuration ensures excellentmissionand coherent in time and space, a stable soundstage and a wider listening area. BassTrax technology uses a Tractrix diffuser on the downward-firing reflex port, distributing low frequencies evenly throughout the room. The FyneFlute suspension controls the cone's movement, reducing unwanted resonances for a cleaner, more articulate sound.
The Fyne Audio product range primarily includes floorstanding and bookshelf speakers, available in several series to meet every need. The 500 Series, with models such as the F500, F501, and F502 in both standard and Special Production variants, offers the signature IsoFlare driver in solutions with an excellent performance-to-size ratio, ideal for both dedicated stereo systems and sophisticated home environments. The higher series, up to the flagship models and the classic-designed Vintage line, further enhance performance for the most demanding listeners.
In just a few years, Fyne Audio has won numerous accolades from the international specialist press, with enthusiastic reviews and awards that have confirmed its build quality and sound performance, quickly establishing it as one of the most interesting brands on the contemporary hi-fi scene.
Fyne Audio's target audience includes audiophiles and music enthusiasts who seek natural musicality, precise sound imaging and build quality, with a price range that spans from the most accessible models to high-end flagship speakers, covering different budget needs without compromising on acoustic performance.
In Italy, Fyne Audio is available through a select network of specialized high-fidelity retailers, who guarantee qualified advice, demo listening sessions, and professional after-sales assistance to maximize the value of each system.

Floorstanding or bookshelf speakers: a guide to choosing

Imposing tower or compact bookshelf? It's the question every enthusiast asks at least once, and the answer is never obvious. The choice between floorstanding and bookshelf speakers depends on more than just budget or space...

Anatomy of a Tower: What Makes a Speaker Unique

A floorstanding speaker is built to stand alone, without the need for external supports. Its height—often between 80 and 120 centimeters—allows it to house multiple separate drivers: a tweeter for highs, a midrange driver for midrange, and one or more woofers for bass. This multi-way configuration offers more granular control over different portions of the sound spectrum.

Excellent speakers, detailed sound but not cold or surgical. Really effective bass management and they forgive poor positioning. For the price, I can only recommend the Fyne Audio.
