Gold Note Da Vinci

Description

The Gold Note Da Vinci is a newly designed low-output moving coil cartridge , designed for a richly detailed sound and natural tonal balance. In the Florentine manufacturer's range, it sits between the Donatello and Giotto series, for those looking to take a step forward in vinyl playback with a moving coil.

The body is made of 7000 Duralumin , a rigid alloy that dampens vibrations well, and weighs 10g. The lightweight aluminum cantilever features a Micro Elliptical diamond , a thin profile that precisely follows the groove modulations and delivers a smooth, harsh-free sound; the coils are made of copper.

The claimed measurements are those of a top-level MC: frequency response from 10 Hz to 35 kHz, channel separation greater than 30 dB and compliance of 12 × 10⁻⁶ cm/dyne, with a recommended tracking force of 2 g.

What phono preamp do I need for the Gold Note Da Vinci? With 0,4 mV output and an internal impedance of only 4 Ω, you'll need an MC phono preamp with adequate gain, or a step-up transformer. Gold Note recommends a 47 Ω load; it's a good idea to check that your phono preamp offers this setting or something close to it.

About the brand

Gold Note is an Italian manufacturer specializing in preamplifiers, phono stages, and dedicated power supplies that solve specific amplification and power supply problems in hi-fi systems. Its products serve those who want to recover detail and dynamics from analog sources, reduce background noise, and stabilize mains voltage: needs that affect both vinyl listeners and those working with digital and streaming.

To choose the right model, consider the type of cartridge (moving magnet or moving coil), the quality of your home's electrical system, and its integration with the rest of your system. Gold Note offers scalable solutions, from entry-level phono stages to preamplifiers with dedicated power supplies, compatible with the major hi-fi brands we carry. Come to Carpi to listen to the models in our showroom, receive advice on matching them, and also evaluate guaranteed used, ex-demo, and trade-in options.

Best Turntables: 5 Mistakes That Cause You to Buy the Wrong One

Rankings of the "best turntables" last only as long as the model they recommend. The mistakes that lead to buying the wrong one, however, have been the same for twenty years—and they don't depend on which model comes out this year. We see them repeated in stores every…

Mistake 1: Comparing turntables by price alone

This is the most costly mistake, and almost no one notices it in time. A turntable alone doesn't make sound: it needs a cartridge and a phono preamplifier. Two models that cost the same in the shop window can have very different destinies, because one arrives fully assembled and the other not.
