The T2 is the middle step of the Pro-Ject turntable line, and the difference compared to the T1 is in the masses.

The chassis is CNC-machined from a solid block—no gaps or plastic—but in an extended version, and the platter is made of sandblasted glass, going from 8 to 10 millimeters, weighing 1,7 kg. The total weight increases to 5,5 kg compared to the 3,8 kg of the T1. More mass means less energy returned to the stylus, which is the most direct way to reduce the noise floor of a turntable.

The tonearm is a straight 9-inch aluminum arm, with a Sumiko Rainier moving magnet cartridge already mounted and aligned. The spindle is steel and the mat is felt.

The motor is direct current, with electronic gear change between 33 and 45 rpm: there is no need to move the belt by hand.
