Description

The Serblin & Son Frankie Plus is a network integrated amplifier that combines amplification, digital conversion, and streaming electronics in a single chassis. It draws on over thirty years of experience in high-end design, with circuitry entirely developed in Italy.

The heart of the project is the analog volume control , which is handled by a network of fixed resistors switched by relays on a 127-step scale. This solution keeps the signal entirely in the analog domain, avoiding both the drift of traditional potentiometers and the loss of resolution of digital volumes, and guarantees perfect tracking between the two channels at any listening level.

The power stage operates in Class A/B and delivers 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms, rising to 120 watts into 4 ohms: enough power reserve to drive even insensitive floorstanding speakers with authority. The digital section integrates a DAC with dual S/PDIF inputs (coaxial and optical) and a complete network streamer , with access to Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, internet radio, and the AirPlay2, UPnP/DLNA, and OpenHome protocols.

On the analog front, there's still an MM/MC phono input with adjustable resistance and cartridge load capacitance, a balanced XLR input, and two RCA line inputs, as well as a pre-out for those who want to use a dedicated power amplifier. Management is via an app for Android and iOS smartphones, a fitting choice for a device designed for those who want to manage their entire system and stream high-resolution audio from the couch. Anyone wondering how to connect a network amplifier to streaming services like Tidal and Qobuz will find everything integrated here, without the need for external components.

Essential aesthetics and compact dimensions complete an object that is aimed at those looking for a high-end amplifier without compromises but with the practicality of a modern all-in-one network amplifier .
