Description

A legend that continues to make audio history. The Klipsch Heresy IV represents the evolution of over 65 years of American acoustic excellence, transforming any home into an audiophile-grade listening room. This 3-way floorstanding speaker is more than just a hi-fi product, but a sonic legacy bearing the signature of Paul W. Klipsch, the visionary who revolutionized the global audio industry.

Technical innovation that makes the difference. For the first time in its long history, the Heresy IV introduces a rear-firing bass reflex port with proprietary Tractrix geometry, extending the frequency response down to 48 Hz and ensuring deep, controlled, and musical bass. The new loading system completely eliminates the air turbulence typical of traditional porting, producing clean, dynamic low frequencies that make the use of a subwoofer unnecessary in most home environments.

The beating heart of the Heresy IV lies in the new K-702 midrange driver with polyimide diaphragm , paired with the K-704 Tractrix horn for wide, natural dispersion that enhances every nuance of the midrange. Vocals, acoustic instruments and microphonic details emerge with a three-dimensional presence that only Klipsch horn technology can deliver. The K-107-TI tweeter with titanium diaphragm completes the system with crystal-clear, extended but never aggressive highs, thanks to the new phase plug optimized for uniform 360-degree dispersion.

Legendary efficiency for every amplifier. With an extraordinary sensitivity of 99 dB SPL , the Heresy IV transforms every watt into pure musical energy, allowing even low-powered tube amplifiers to express breathtaking dynamics. Handling up to 400 watts peak ensures high safety margins for high-volume listening sessions without distortion or dynamic compression.

Uncompromising American craftsmanship. Each pair is handcrafted in our Hope, Arkansas, factory, using only book-matched wood from the same tree to ensure seamless aesthetic continuity. The Satin Black Ash, Distressed Oak, and American Walnut finishes transform each speaker into a premium furnishing accessory, while the sloped base automatically optimizes sound dispersion toward the listening area.

The bi-wiring-ready architecture allows for advanced configurations with separate amplifiers for the low and mid-high ranges, maximizing performance with high-end systems. Universal compatibility with 8 Ohm amplifiers, simplified installation, and an extended 10-year warranty complete a product designed to last decades, just like the vintage models that are highly sought-after on the used market today.

FAQ

What's the difference between the Heresy IV and previous models? The Heresy IV introduces a rear-firing bass port for the first time, extending the frequency response down nearly 10 Hz, eliminating the need for a subwoofer. The new K-702 polyimide midrange driver offers greater detail and naturalness, while the K-107-TI tweeter delivers more extended and sweeter highs than previous versions.

Can I drive the Heresy IV with a low-powered tube amplifier? Absolutely. Thanks to their exceptional sensitivity of 99 dB, even 10-15 watts per channel produce club-level volumes. Their 8-ohm impedance compatibility makes them ideal for both vintage and modern tube amplifiers, enhancing the musical character of both technologies.

Do you need to place them away from the rear wall? Not necessarily. The new Tractrix rear duct design is optimized to work even close to walls, but for the best three-dimensional sound, we recommend at least 30-50 cm away. The integrated slanted base automatically optimizes the dispersion angle.

Are they suitable for home theater as well as music? The Heresy IVs excel both in pure stereo configurations and as front channels in home theater systems. Their instantaneous dynamics and high efficiency make them perfect for movie soundtracks, while their timbral accuracy enhances dialogue and ambient effects with cinematic realism.

What type of amplification do you recommend to get the most out of them? Given their high efficiency, they are suitable for any quality amplifier from 20W and up. Tube amplifiers enhance natural musicality, while solid-state class A/AB amplifiers ensure control and dynamics. Avoid traditional amplifiers.oppo powerful ones that could overload the drivers at extreme volumes.

Does the 10-year warranty cover professional use? The Klipsch Heritage extended warranty covers manufacturing defects for normal home use. For intensive professional applications, we recommend checking with your authorized dealer for specific terms and conditions, who may be able to provide extended warranties.

Klipsch's corporate philosophy is based on the fundamental principles established by its founder: maximum efficiency, minimum distortion, and controlled directional control. Paul Klipsch, an engineer and acoustic pioneer, developed the first prototypes in his home in Hope, Arkansas, with the goal of creating loudspeakers capable of reproducing live sound with absolute fidelity. missionThe company's motto has remained unchanged for over seventy years: "The sound closest to the original." This dedication to sonic purity has made Klipsch one of the most respected brands in the world of high fidelity, with a solid reputation among the most discerning audiophiles. The company combines traditional American craftsmanship with ongoing technological innovation, maintaining production of some flagship models in the United States while constantly investing in research and development to perfect its audio solutions.
Klipsch's signature technologies include the renowned Tractrix Horn Technology, a patented horn system that ensures uniform dispersion and reduced distortion. Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) optimizes transducer movement for more precise response, while Cerametallic technology represents the evolution of high-performance composite woofer cones. Injection Molded Graphite (IMG) characterizes the Reference Series tweeters, offering superior detail and dynamics. These proprietary innovations distinguish Klipsch products in the global high-fidelity landscape.
The Klipsch product line ranges from the Heritage Series floorstanding speakers, which retain their original vintage design, to the modern Reference Premiere bookshelf speakers. Klipsch's transistor integrated amplifiers are characterized by high power and precise control, ideal for effectively driving the company's loudspeakers. The tube integrated amplifier category offers solutions for lovers of warmer, more immersive analog sound.
The Heritage Series represents absolute excellence with iconic models such as the Klipsch Cornwall IV and Heresy IV, floorstanding speakers that use updated original horn technology. The Reference Premiere line includes floorstanding and bookshelf speakers with Cerametallic drivers and LTS tweeters, perfect for high-end stereo systems. The RP Series offers more affordable solutions while maintaining high technical performance. Floorstanding or bookshelf speakers: a guide to choosing

Imposing tower or compact bookshelf? It's the question every enthusiast asks at least once, and the answer is never obvious. The choice between floorstanding and bookshelf speakers depends on more than just budget or space...

Anatomy of a Tower: What Makes a Speaker Unique

A floorstanding speaker is built to stand alone, without the need for external supports. Its height—often between 80 and 120 centimeters—allows it to house multiple separate drivers: a tweeter for highs, a midrange driver for midrange, and one or more woofers for bass. This multi-way configuration offers more granular control over different portions of the sound spectrum.

Excellent product, definitely among the best speakers in their category. The only flaw is that the low frequencies are, in my opinion, lacking, despite the new bass reflex port introduced with the IVs. They forced me to pair them with a subwoofer (Rel T7X, which I consider perfect for these speakers). In any case, they are excellent and easy to drive. They will definitely be with me for a very long time! Excellent service, of course, from Audiocostruzioni!
