The Esoteric Grandioso M1X is the monoblock power amplifier of the Grandioso series, in class AB: it delivers 300 W into 8 ohms, 600 W into 4 ohms and, with a musical signal, up to 2.400 W into 1 ohm , with a power linearity that makes it suitable for practically any speaker. It is the «X» version of the Grandioso M1: 1.018 of its 1.554 components are new, equal to 90% of the electrical circuits redesigned.
How many Grandioso M1Xs do you need for a stereo system? Two: The M1X is a monoblock sold per piece, so for a stereo system you need two units, one for each channel. Each has an input ES-Link Analog, one XLR and one RCA, and pairs naturally with the Grandioso C1X preamp. ES-Link Analog is the proprietary Esoteric link to trasmissionand current: with an output of about 1 kohm and an input of 0 ohm it makes a current flow in the cable about 100 times higher than that of a normal voltage connection and makes the signal independent of the impedance of the cable.
The pilot stage has been expanded from 6 to 12 couples in parallel, for a total of 24 transistors all kept at the same temperature for balance and stability. The compensation of fase The single-pole design allows for a coil-less final stage, and a pre-driver stage with a dedicated power supply protects weak signals coming from the preamplifier from the strong current variations of the final stage. A new balanced input amplifier, independent for each input, the module IDM-01 and FET switches on the selector take care of the finer details.
The power supply is the largest ever made by Esoteric, occupying approximately 60% of the internal space: a 3.000 VA , 19 kg transformer with larger-diameter windings and custom Esoteric capacitors for a total capacitance of 60.000 µF . Heavy-gauge copper circuit boards, large busbars in the power stage, and large-diameter cables with bolted connections reduce internal impedance and provide full control even with large-diameter woofers.
The 62kg chassis has a front panel machined from a 35mm block of aluminium, a block-aluminium enclosure, a semi-floating lid with a double honeycomb grille (two grilles of different thicknesses with staggered holes, to dissipate heat and disperse vibrations) and specially structured isolation feet.
