Description

L'Exposure 5510 Integrated Amplifier is l 'integrated amplifier flagship of the English manufacturer: preamplifier and power amplifier of the 5510 series in a single chassis, with 120W per channel into 8 ohmsIt is designed for those looking for the level of a separate component system with fewer devices and fewer cables.

There are six line inputs and a fixed-level AV input for integrating with a home theater processor. The integrated amplifier grows with your system: it accommodates an optional MM, MC, or DS phono card (for DS Audio optical cartridges) and the DAC+ card for connecting streamers, CD transports, or computers.

The power supply uses a custom-designed toroidal transformer with a hum-reducing shield and a low-noise design, allowing music to emerge from a silent background. The aluminum chassis controls resonance; the white OLED display has five brightness levels and auto power off, and a remote control is included.

Is an integrated amplifier better than a separate pre- and power amplifier? The 5510 Integrated shares the same setup as the separate 5510 Pre-Amplifier and 5510 Mono Amplifier, with the power amplifier's distortion below 0,02% and a signal-to-noise ratio above 100 dB, all in a single unit.

About the brand

Exposure It is a British brand founded in 1974 in Hove, West Sussex, where John Farlowe initially opened a hi-fi shop. Farlowe, a graduate of the University of Sussex in electronic engineering, came from the world of professional audio: he had worked for HiWatt, a manufacturer of tube guitar amplifiers, and for Midas, designing mixers and participating in the PA systems for Pink Floyd concerts. The first branded products arrived in 1977. Exposure, including the pre- and final pair III and IV.

When Farlowe retired in 2000, technical leadership passed to Tony Brady, who had been chief designer for over twenty years. The company is now based in Lancing, West Sussex, and has been in business for over fifty years.

The basic idea has remained the same as the original: "real world" hi-fi at realistic prices, with sober fronts and all the complexity inside. Exposure He states a few guiding principles: musical sound, meticulous construction, simple aesthetics, ease of use, and durability. He also speaks of "trickle-up technology": solutions developed for the more affordable models that are then extended to the higher end of the range. Brady himself describes the home sound as crisp, with rhythmic bass, plenty of punch and control, a clear midrange, and clean highs.

The catalog is organized by series: the compact XM, the 2510 and 3510 series, the most recent 5510 with its flagship integrated amplifier, as well as DACs and accessories. In the larger series, each element shares dimensions and aesthetics, so a system can grow gradually, starting with the integrated amplifier and then moving on to separate preamps and power amps.

Among the new devices there is almost an entire chain of the 3510 series: the integrated amplifier Exposure 3510, the 3510 Pre-Amplifier, the 3510 Stereo Amplifier, and the 3510 CD Player. One step below is the integrated amplifier. Exposure 2510, also new.

For most systems, the most sensible starting point is an integrated. The 2510 is the choice for those who want the character Exposure In a compact system with standmount or floorstanding speakers of medium sensitivity, the 3510 offers more reserve and control for larger rooms or speakers that are less easy to drive. Those who already have a demanding speaker, or plan to expand over time, might consider the option of separates: the 3510 Pre-Amplifier and the 3510 Stereo Amplifier, which share similar dimensions and aesthetics.

The 3510 CD Player completes the chain in a natural way for those who still listen to a lot of records, with the advantage of a homogeneous aesthetic and sound setup.

In our showroom in Carpi you can listen to the Exposure In the listening room, compare integrated and separate speakers and check the pairing with the speakers you already own, with the advice of our staff. If you prefer, you can order the models online at audiocostruzioni.com with shipping, asking us for advice first by email. We'll also consider exchanging your current components to make switching from one component to another easier.

Vinyl, Streaming, or CD: Which Source to Choose to Get Started

Choosing the source is the first real choice when building a Hi-Fi system. Vinyl, digital streaming, or CD? Each has its own unique characteristics, different costs, and a specific learning curve. There's no universal answer: it depends on how you listen,…

Vinyl: Ritual, warmth, and physical involvement

Vinyl is the quintessential analog source. It requires a turntable, a cartridge, a preamp (often integrated into the amplifier), and a minimum amount of care in setup. The sound has a recognizable signature: smooth, full-bodied, with a natural spatiality that many describe as "warm." It's not technically perfect—there's background noise, serious wear, and a lack of clarity.dualand — but it's involvement.
