Jamo
Jamo
Jamo was founded in Glyngøre, Denmark, on the Limfjord: in 1968, Preben Jacobsen and his brother-in-law Julius Mortensen joined forces, and the brand name combines the first letters of their surnames. Ten years later, the one-millionth speaker rolled off the production line, and in 1994, Jamo became the leading loudspeaker manufacturer in Europe, with a 28.000-square-meter factory. It was also the first audio company to achieve ISO 9001 certification and the first in the EMEA region to produce a THX-certified speaker.
In 2005, the brand was acquired by the American group Klipsch; in 2024, VOXX, which in the meantime owned Klipsch, sold Jamo to Rayleigh Lab and Cinemaster, who formed Jamo Holding Limited to relaunch it. The new management, led by Xiaodong Yang, also involved European designers such as Kim Michel and the English studio Studio ISO, and emphasizes the original Scandinavian style: simple shapes, meticulous finishes, and speakers designed to fit seamlessly into a living room.
The range we have for sale covers stereo, home theater, and installation. The C6 MKII series includes the C603 MKII bookshelf speaker, with a 5,25-inch woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter, the C605 MKII and C607 MKII floorstanding models, and the C60 CEN MKII center speaker, designed for both stereo listening and surround systems. Then there are the C113 and C119 speakers, the D590 floorstanding model, and the J10 SUB, SUB 210, and Cube Subwoofer subwoofers. For in-wall and in-ceiling installation, there are the IW and IC series, from the IW 206 FG and IC 206 FG models to the IW 425 LCR FG II and IW 626 LCR FG II front channels, as well as the 6.5CS-T.
For those who don't want a separate amplifier, there are active speakers. The C705PA MKII integrates a 2 x 45-watt Class D amplifier, Bluetooth with aptX HD, HDMI ARC input for your TV, USB-C, and analog inputs; alongside it are the C707PA and the compact mini MKII. The HYG series, introduced in 2026 and inspired by the Danish concept of "hygge," includes three wireless speakers: the HYG Flex, with two angled tweeters and a 5-inch woofer; the HYG Flow, portable and IPX7 waterproof; and the HYG Reflect, a bedside speaker with ambient light, an alarm clock, and wireless phone charging.
The choice depends on space and use. On a desk or in a small room, the C705PA MKII connected to the TV or computer is the simplest solution, as it requires no additional electronics. For a traditional stereo system, the C603 MKII should be paired with an amplifier of at least 70 watts, while the C605 MKII and C607 MKII fill larger rooms better. For a home theater, the C6 MKII series is complemented by the C60 CEN MKII center speaker and a subwoofer like the SUB 210; the IW and IC recessed speakers are useful when the speakers need to disappear into the walls or ceiling, and the HYG speakers are designed for informal listening around the house.
