The Metallica group contacted us and chose Pro-Ject as a partner to create a limited series turntable specifically designed for them. And today, Pro-Ject is proud to announce that this turntable has been made.
The Metallica turntable continues our tradition of collaborations with artists around the world.

Vinyl artists
We've given this turntable its entire perimeter a mirror-polished metallic finish, modeled after the Metallica logo and giving it its distinctive look. The S-shaped tonearm features a removable SME-standard headshell for quick cartridge changes. The Pro-Ject Pick it S2C cartridge comes standard, mounted and pre-adjusted at the factory. Furthermore, enthusiasts can later adjust both the tracking force and anti-skating, making this turntable a true audiophile product. When listening to vinyl on this turntable, you'll lose track of time.

Oversized glass plate
The glass platter is generously sized, heavy, and designed to eliminate resonances. The high mass of the platter technically translates into much more accurate speed, and aesthetically, the glass allows you to see underneath the platter, where Pro-Ject's designers have done an incredibly impressive job. The build quality is top-notch, avoiding the use of plastic.

The sub-platter, pulley, and feet are all made of aluminum. The aluminum sub-platter in particular, usually one of the most sought-after components among audiophiles, clearly demonstrates that no expense has been spared on this turntable. The sub-platter and diamond-cut pulley are CNC-machined to extremely tight tolerances. The aluminum sub-platter adds mass to the entire platter and drive system, thereby dampening noise and unwanted resonances.
Better tolerances translate into greater precision in playback and overall speed deviation. The additional mass and super accurate pulley and sub-platter diameters improve speed stability, aka Wow & Flutter.
The Metallica turntable also uses height-adjustable metal feet to ensure correct flat positioning on any type of support surface, as it must be flat to play the Metallica Damage Inc song.

Precision... and stable speed
As per Pro-Ject tradition, the speed is electronically controlled with extreme precision, ensuring stable and accurate playback. You can switch between 33 and 45 rpm speeds using a lever switch. For those who also want to listen to 78 rpm records, you can do so by simply changing the belt, which comes with the turntable.

S-arm
The 8,6" S-shaped aluminum tonearm features a removable SME headshell. The SME headshell allows for quick and easy cartridge changes. The tonearm bearing and base are also made of aluminum. You won't find any plastic components in the important and critical parts of this turntable.
