The Sonus Faber Concertino Home is a replacement for the Concertino, which was discontinued. The Concertino Home is also part of the Sonus Faber Home Theater series, where it comes bundled with the Sonus Faber Grand Piano Home, the Solo center speaker, and the Gravis subwoofer. Similar to the Sonus Faber Concertino, the Concertino Home is smaller and less square, with the front and rear panels sloping inward, while the first series was more traditional. The Concertino Home seems to be better suited for shelf placement, as it is shallower. The second version has better connection terminals, but there is only one pair, which prevents bi-wiring or bi-amping. The drivers are completely different, both the tweeter and the woofer.

The new Concertino Home speakers are certainly no underdogs, but they are somewhat eclipsed in these parameters. High-frequency extension is quite similar, with a little more detail thanks to the new tweeter. Where the Home model suffers, in comparison, is in the bass range, which is deliberately less full, almost controlled, to allow for placement closer to the edges of the room or on a shelf, in line with their home theater orientation. However, this can be compensated for by the Gravis subwoofer. The older models, on the other hand, lose precision and speed in the bass and midrange when placed betweenoppo near a wall.

In summary, the Concertino has better tonal balance across the entire frequency range, better bass and midrange reproduction, a bit slower but more extended and rounded, and a better, deeper soundstage. The Concertino Home series is more efficient, can be driven with more power, is more informative, more palpable, has a slightly forward but not fatiguing midrange, and is easier to connect.
