Description
Integrated DC amplifier using Technics' new original class A system.
It employs a new class-A amplification method that uses a Technics-exclusive synchronous bias circuit and eliminates switching distortion, which is the cause of cloudy sound.
Switching distortion occurs in Class B and AB amplifiers because the positive and negative waveforms become symmetrical near the zero-crossing point of the signal due to the carrier stacking effect when the output transistor is turned on and off. In a synchronous bias circuit, a constant bias is applied to the output stage so that the output stage is always on and the switching distortion is zero.
In the new class A crossover distortion is also eliminated.
Crossover distortion is caused by a time shift between the positive and negative waveforms due to excess or deficiency of quiescent current; furthermore, the waveform itself does not have an ideal quadratic characteristic, and the combined positive and negative transfer characteristic does not become a straight line. In the new Class A, the signal path and bias current are independent, so the output transistor always maintains an appropriate operating point, and the high-speed response diode that switches between the positive and negative waveforms has an almost ideal quadratic characteristic, so crossover distortion is zero.
A direct DC system is adopted in which a high-gain input is directly connected to a high-gain DC power amplifier to achieve faithful frequency characteristics in amplitude and fase up to the DC region.
In addition, the differential amplification circuit of the first stage of the power amplifier is composed of a dual FET chip, and DC drift is suppressed to ±10 mV or less in the range of -10℃ to +50℃. Furthermore, NFB is suppressed to 45 dB by adopting a circuit configuration that significantly improves the stripping characteristics, such as the linear cascade circuit and the 3-stage Darlington circuit.
The phono equalizer uses a differential amplifier dual-Low-noise FET in the first stage. Both the MM and MC are ICL equalizers with a connected input capacitor, realizing a basic low-noise, high-gain MC design.
It uses a concentrated power block, and by integrating the power supply and output transistor and connecting them at the shortest distance, it minimizes the high-frequency distortion caused by electrical waves.romagnetic.
The power section features two completely independent power configurations with separate power transformers for the left and right channels, eliminating transient crosstalk across the power section.
Additionally, a constant-voltage FET load is used to load the constant-voltage power supply error detection circuit. By stably supplying a constant voltage with a high ripple suppression rate from the voltage amplification stage to the first stage of the main amplifier, self-transient crosstalk is avoided.
The power transformer has a structure in which the coil is immersed in a special resin and stored in a protective casing. This achieves a truck cage and high SN ratio (minimizing mechanical vibrations of the transformer).
Equipped with a Super Base tone control that allows you to expand the frequency and characteristics of the speaker up to an octave into the lower range with shelving tone.
This Super Bass can be used not only to correct the ultra-low frequency characteristics of speakers, but also to eliminate low-range boominess caused by the acoustic characteristics of the listening room. When the reverberation time is long, the room emits an unpleasant sound at a specific low-range frequency. With Super Bass activated, you can use the normal bass tone control to attenuate only the boomy frequency range.
The tone control is a half-deviated type.
Equipped with a self-recovery type protection circuit that disconnects the speaker by activating a relay when a DC component appears on the speaker terminal or when the speaker terminal is short-circuited.
