The Marantz Model 40n is a network stereo integrated amplifier that combines a 70W-per-channel Class A/B power stage into 8 ohms (100W into 4 ohms) with a HEOS network player and a full digital section. The aluminum faceplate with porthole OLED display and smooth-motion volume knob are typical of the Marantz Model line.
The analog heart uses modules HDAM-SA3 and HDAM-SA2, faster and quieter than amplifiers operaintegrated amplifiers, a current feedback topology and a toroidal transformer; the volume is handled by a MUSES 72323 integrated amplifier. Hi-fi streaming is available via HEOS (Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music, internet radio), AirPlay 2, and Bluetooth; it's Roon Tested and compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri. The subwoofer output, Power Amp Direct input for use as a power amp, and headphone output make it the centerpiece of a complete system, ideal for pairing with, for example, the CD 60 player.

The nominal impedance of a speaker — expressed in ohms (Ω) — indicates the electrical resistance that the speakers oppoThey match the signal coming from the amplifier. The most common values are 4, 6, and 8 ohms, but there are also 2-ohm (rare) or 16-ohm (vintage) speakers.
