The Studio 125, recipient of many excellent reviews and winner of the What Hi-Fi? Best Buy award in 2000 has been further developed to deliver even more outstanding performance whilst still retaining its original character.

This exceptional loudspeaker now features an uprated 61/2" bass unit, which incorporates an open, raised voice coil giving improved linearity and lower distortion. Housed in a more rigid ProAc chassis the new motor unit provides greater detail and power handling. To achieve the necessary bass extension and to utilise the extra power this driver has twin loading by a flared reflex port and a larger straight port.

A superior crossover network mates the bass seamlessly with a high quality soft dome tweeter which itself is characterised by a smooth and exceptionally detailed response. Refinements to the ferrofluid cooling system in the tweeter have resulted in an even wider frequency response.

Solid cabinet construction and quality drive units and components have combined with design innovations to produce an important new model which will satisfy not only demanding audiophiles but also those with home theatre applications. Both drive units are magnetically shielded.

The slim and elegant cabinets are made of varying thicknesses of high quality MDF, reinforced with bitumous damping and lined with anechoic grade foam to absorb any internal sound. Robustly constructed, they provide a firm platform for high quality reproduction.

Producing a sound out of all proportion to its size, the uprated Studio 125 exhibits a more extended and tightly controlled bass response, together with more open midrange and greater power handling. Generating an expansive soundstage with great weight and authority, these units nonetheless impress with considerable finesse in areas of detail, smoothness and highly accurate imagery.

The full potential of these thoroughbred designs will be realised through the use of the highest quality partnering equipment, but a competent system or home theatre equipment will produce excellent results.

Sul marchio

ProAc è un costruttore inglese di diffusori acustici fondato nel 1979 da Stewart Tyler. Il nome è l'abbreviazione di Professional Acoustics: il primo modello, lo Studio Three, era pensato per l'uso in studio oltre che per l'ascolto domestico. Prima di ProAc, Tyler aveva fondato a Borehamwood il marchio Celef Audio. Dal 1990 i diffusori ProAc sono progettati e costruiti nella fabbrica di Brackley, nel Northamptonshire. Dopo la scomparsa di Tyler, nel 2021, l'azienda è guidata dalla famiglia e dal gruppo che ha lavorato con lui.

La gamma attuale comprende la Tablette 10 Signature, ultima evoluzione dei minidiffusori Tablette, e il monitor Studio SM100, erede della Studio 100. La serie Response, nata nel 1989, ha modelli da stand (DB1, DB3, D2) e da pavimento (DT8, D20, D30S, D48), molti dei quali disponibili con tweeter a cupola in seta oppure a nastro (ribbon). La K Series, introdotta nel 2011 con la K6 e chiamata così per i woofer con cono in Kevlar, comprende K1, K3, K6, K6 Signature e l'ammiraglia K10. Completano il catalogo il canale centrale Centre Voice e il cavo per diffusori Signature Black.

I mobili sono rivestiti in vero legno. Le finiture standard sono Cherry, Black Ash, Mogano, Noce, Oak e bianco; Ebano, Palissandro e, su alcuni modelli, Liquid Amber, Frassino Tamo ed Eucalipto scuro sono finiture a sovrapprezzo.
